McEvoy, Tom--1983 World Series of Poker Champion, 2009 WSOP Champions Invitational Winner

Tom McEvoy has added cigarette smoke to 50 dollar bills in his list of things he doesn't want around him while playing poker.

The veteran poker legend, famous for his superstitious fear of touching 50 dollar bills during poker tournaments, is leading the fight against smoking in casinos as a member of Gamblers Against Secondhand Smoke.

"I love Las Vegas. I love gaming. I'm not anti-casino. I'm anti-smoking in the casino," McEvoy said. "This is actually going to help the industry in the long run."

Casinos are amongst the few places where smokers are still allowed to indulge their nicotine addictions, and McEvoy believes that this has a clear impact on both his health and the wellbeing of those around him.

"I love to play poker but hate to breathe secondhand smoke every time I walk into a casino. Casinos need to be smoke free!"
